Even without star player Terrence Romeo, the GlobalPort Batang Pier cruised to a huge 19-point victory over the Mahindra Floodbuster, 105-86, to pick up a second win in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Sunday at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

Stanley Pringle led GlobalPort with 24 points – including 17 in a terrific first half performance – alongside five assists while import Malcolm White posted 16 points and 17 rebounds.

Von Pessumal finished with 14 points while Mike Cortez chipped in 12 while filling in for Romeo, who was in uniform but did not play.

GlobalPort improved to 2-5 while knocking Mahindra down to 1-7 in the standings.

Pringle led the Batang Pier on a 13-1 run in the second quarter that broke a close game wide open. James Forrester capped that run with an alley-oop dunk as they pushed their lead up to 16 points, 47-31, before settling for a 49-36 halftime advantage.

They went on another run in the third led by Pringle and Cortez before Pessumal started knocking down threes that pushed their lead to a high of 31 points.

Mahindra import Keith Wright scored 23 points to lead the Floodbuster.
