NLEX import Aaron Fuller impressed in his PBA debut, scoring 30 points and 20 rebounds as well as providing energy to help the Road Warriors notch a 112-104 triumph over Alaska on the opening day of Governors’ Cup.

NLEX coach Yeng Guiao said he liked what he saw from Fuller who has drawn comparisons to PBA great Rudy Hatfield, a hardworking forward who played 12 seasons in the league.

“He did not disappoint,” Guiao told InterAksyon. “His strong point is his inside game. He’s high percentage kapag nasa loob. Also, he does not force shots.”

Apart from his offense, Fuller also provided a highlight reel on the defensive end of the floor, rejecting a dunk attempt by Alaska import LaDontae Henton.

While he’s satisfied with his import, Guiao said he expects other teams to be more wary of Fuller in NLEX’s next games.

“We will expect the double team. Next time na maglaro yan, marami nang double team. When the double team comes, we should be ready. We have to make some shots coming off a rotation, coming out of the double team,” Guiao said.

“It’s not going to be easy. Kapag na-scout na siya, mayroon nang game plan sa kanya. But we’re happy with the way he played. He doesn’t complain, he doesn’t talk. He’s just playing hard, he’s rebounding the ball and he’s getting his shots and he’s blocking shots.”
