Now that she is ready to resume her acting career with the Metro Manila Film Festival entry “The Revengers,” in which she will co-star with proven box office draws Vice Ganda and Daniel Padilla, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach says she’s ready to handle just about anything that comes with the territory.

“I’ve been doing refresher acting workshops to prepare for my role. With intrigues, I’ve been dealing with them for years, especially during my reign as Miss Universe. I am prepared for anything that will come my way,” she told InterAksyon during her recent meet and greet activity to launch the new Huawei Experience Store at the Cyberzone of SM Mall of Asia.

Pia said she’s excited to play a superhero in “The Revengers,” a fantasy comedy adventure inspired by Marvel’s “The Avengers” to be directed by Joyce Bernal. The film is her first big screen project since “All About Love” in 2006 where she played a minor role and when she was still billed as Pia Romero.

But while Pia is now moving forward to the next phase of her life and career, she has not totally forgotten about her meaningful reign as the world’s most beautiful woman. Just because she has finished her tour of duty as Miss Universe does not at all mean she no longer has ties with the pageant’s organization.

“Life has been great after Miss Universe. Even my manager from Miss Universe mentioned that it usually is a challenge for a former winner to transition. But in my case, within months of observing me, guiding me, with their help and also with the help of my managers at Mercator, I was able to still do more after Miss Universe,” she pointed out.

“I am actually the first former winner to still be in contract with Miss Universe. So I know, with them and with [her manager] Jonas Gaffud, I am in good hands.”

Although Pia prefers not to reveal what people can expect from her in the near future aside from “The Revengers,” one thing she is not hesitant to talk about is her personal advocacies particularly her championing of HIV awareness.

“True to my word, I will continue what I started. And while I have many things planned, the only clue I can reveal is ‘HIV/AIDS will end in 2030’,” she boldly declared.

Besides acting, one thing that has kept Pia in the public eye are her numerous endorsement deals. As someone who endorses only brands and products that she believe in, she is particularly thrilled to be chosen as the spokesperson for Huawei smartphones, particularly their recently launched flagship models, the P10 and P10 Plus with Leica Dual-Cameras.

For Pia, it is important to have a smartphone that can help her share not only her most important milestones but also mundane activities that she somehow manage to make more interesting.

“Social media is taking over everything nowadays. You get updates on your favorite celebrities, you get recent news, it is basically an encyclopedia now. And I have always been a transparent person who is keeping it real. To have a phone that reflects that is perfect. To keep my supporters updated, I have a Huawei P10 Plus phone. You can ask all my friends. It is what I use,” she further revealed.

And with a Huawei smartphone always in tow to aid in recording her everyday affairs, Pia knows she has a lot more to achieve not just for herself but also for others who look up to her as a role model and inspiration.

“I made the impossible dream of becoming Miss Universe happen, so why stop now? I can make more dreams possible,” she concluded.
